You've Trained Hard! Show It!
Sports & Action Photography
One of the really great things about being a photographer is getting to work with subjects that interest you. As I get older I've discovered a passion for covering action, and sometimes being in the action itself. For instance, I don't just photograph grappling matches; I occasionally compete myself and I train almost daily. In fact my quest for becoming fit and athletic had taken me astray of my passion for photography for almost all of 2015.
In November of that year I met up with a photographer that mentored me many years ago. Over lunch I mentioned how I'd switched focus from photography to martial art training. I was feeling the need to get back into though. His comment, "focus on stuff you enjoy." really struck me. It's a formula I'd used for years but had some how allowed to be swallowed up by fitness training, etc.. I realized I had to expand my photography into the realm of sports a lot more than I have.
On this page you'll find various highlights from my exploration below. They are in no particular order. To the right, on desktop, you'll find links to the galleries that house the individual photo collections. (On Mobile they appear first.)
