Freja and Teri don their disguises as we get ready to surprise my mother. We'd driven 700 miles the night before, sneaking back home. I even spoke to Nunna on the phone earlier, pretending to be at our home.
Heading to Nunna's
Wearing a disguise was my daughter's last minute idea. We were able to swing by a store on our way to Nunna's house.
Ring the Bell
Freja rings the doorbell of my mother's home. She is so excited to surprise her grandmother, who she's not seen for nine months.
As expected, our surprise visit truly shocked Nunna! At first she didn't know who the little kid was ringing her doorbell, but then she recognized Freja's eyes.
There were lots of hugs for the kid from Nunna.
After nine months of not seeing each other, it's all back to normal in no time!
Time for Tales
Freja regales Nunna with tales of her adventures.
A Sunday Stroll
Teri went for a nice walk on the ice on Lake Arthur, in Moraine State Park. It felt so GOOD to be on home soil, or should I say, "Water?"
Testing the Ice
Teri's sister, and her fiancé, went with us for another day of strolling on the lake. The air was a tad warmer, and the top layer of snow had melted, but it was still solid as ever.
Rebekah & Matt
Simply an awesome couple we've missed a lot, and hope to lure away to Wisconsin!
Ham on Ice
The kid can be a real ham sometimes! Naturally, she really loved going out on the ice.
The Bike Trail
We all went for a short stroll on the bike trail. As anyone with a small kid can attest, it can take a while to go a short distance because of the stops to pick up sticks, leaves, and whatnot.
Read. Steady. GO!
Racing with Aunt Rebekah.
Freja tries to flush imaginary critters from the brush along the trail.
A Quick Rest
Freja and Rebekah wait along side the trail for us slow pokes to catch up.
The lake is completely covered with a thick layer of ice. The lake is so large that I can actually see it on the regional weather maps as I view the local new in Wisconsin. It makes it easy for me to see what the weather's doing back home.
Freja, as expected, loved having a day outside to play with her family.
Freja gets a little cup of whipped cream, just like she did when we used live in Pennsylvania.
Time Flys All Right
It's amazing how quickly my friend's son has grown in two years!
Mark just loves having his photo taken.
Freja was really excited to see her older, half brother!
Hanging out with my good buddy Steven.
